Hi can someone explain this to me:

(1+i)^8

How would you solve this. In the book it says use binomial theorem but I don't know how exactly :confused:

Use the binomial expansion of (1 + x)^n and simplify the terms

Binomial expansion of (1+x)^8 then replace x with i.

This is a slight cheat, but if you work out (1+i)^2 and then raise this to the power 4, it's a lot easier :smile:
