Current qualification: BTEC Extended diploma in I.T
Prediction grades: D*D*D*
University course choice(s):Computer science
University options & entry requirements:
1) University of Sheffield (DDD) (Waiting)
2) Sheffield Hallam university (DMM) (Interview)
3) Nottingham Trent university (DMM) (Conditional offer)
4) University of derby (DMM) (Conditional offer)
5) No fifth choice.

Happy about having offers on the table and not getting rejected by Sheffield (Yet)... I lack the desired A' Level maths at grade B for sheffield (Infact i have not studied A' levels at all, so its impossible for me to get that)

I live in hope that maybe i might get lucky and they give me a chance, but i don't think the University of Sheffield will even give me a thought, too many better applicants haha.

not really good to be pessimistic!! what determines a better applicant is one who shows passion and commitment for the course and fully aware of the amount of dedication required for the course in order to succeed. you'll be shocked that there is a chance of you getting an offer with those predicted grades. just hope for the best and not the worst. remember that!

I finally got my first offer on Thursday from derby!
So far I've had a rejection from Leeds, I've got interviews coming up for bangor and uwe and I'm still waiting to hear from Cardiff

I've already got my grades, and that's the university i wanted to go to. Plus most uni's do marketing but few do marketing communications.

I took the BTEC route as I am learner who is better at coursework. Rubbish at exams even with preparation.

Qualification: BTEC Extended Diploma in IT Level 3

Predicted grades: D*D*D*

Course: Computing with year in industry

University Choices:
Bournemouth - Unconditional Offer
University of Liverpool - D*DD
Swansea University - Conditional Offer - DDD (Pass in Welsh Bac in lieu of Distinction)
University of Kent - Interview
Plymouth University - Conditional Offer - DDM

Still don't know which University - I will be declining Plymouth after my interview.

Just an update:

I have been to interviews at Leeds Beckett, University of York and I have one at University of Leeds next week.

Have so far received offers from Leeds Beckett (wanting 300 UCAS points), and University of York who are asking for grades DDM. So, so happy as I didn't think I would get into York! :smile:

Hey,

I took a UAL course, (which stands for University of Arts London, and is a specialised BTEC for Art courses, which filters out all the unnecessary boundaries to hit, that aren't relevant to an Art course. I was the first year to take it, and it's designed by the leading london art unis).

So,
1). Current qualification: UAL Art & Design
2). Prediction grades: Merit (Which I found out today I achieved)
3). University course choice(s): Leeds Beckett Fine Art
Sheffield Hallam Fine Art
4). University options & entry requirements: 300 UCAS Points

What's worrying me is the grade boundaries are either 280 for a merit or 420 for a distinction, so there's no way I could hit 300 points.
And I rang Leeds Beckett and they said I had to wait another week to it to be put on UCAS and for them to decide whether they'll accept me or not.
