Law conversion course. Answer needed???

Hi, i'm looking to do a law conversion course (CPE/GDL), but i was recently told by a friend who does law that after completing the (CPE/GDL), that you have to do a LPC within the next following two years otherwise your CPE qualification becomes disqualified???.....I thought this sounded absurd, as you put alot of hard work and effort into studying for the course so how could it be disqualified?
Once you gain a qualification, it's yours forever...right???
Is this true??
I have hear something similar. However I understood it that you had ro redo the qualifying law exams and not the whole conversion course. May be worth checking it out on the law soieties website.

The CPE/GDL is valid for 7 years - the same as a law degree.
