Dentist Charges?

Hi, the past two times I have visited my dentist (for a double appointment - one to see the hygienist and one for a check up with my dentist) they have charged me Band 2 (£50.50).

Reading the NHS website I'm pretty sure all the work I have had done comes under Band 1 (£18.50) and I am being overcharged.

When I asked the receptionist she said to see the dentist is Band 1 and to see the hygienist is Band 2, but I'm not sure if I believe this.

Can anyone confirm whether or not they are ripping me off? I can't afford to be paying £50 every 6 months for a treatment I don't really need, as they are telling me I look after my teeth very well and they are pretty much perfect.

if you haven't had anything in band 2 they are overcharging you!

I haven't, just a scale and polish and a check up. Is there anything I can do about it? When I queried it at the time she basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about.

I'd go in and perhaps try to talk to someone else about the situation, see if anything can be done.

There is no way you should of been charged that!
