Is biochemistry a good degree?

Yes or no?
Thanks

Depends partly on the uni but biochemistry is well established and widely taught. Besides the obvious knowledge of molecules, cells, physical techniques, chemistry etc, a decent course will also ensure you're reasonably numerate and have decent analytical skills so you've got plenty of options. Grads go on to a variety of careers.. research, finance, marketing, teaching etc. I dont know too much about bomedicine so I wouldnt want to comment and give you a false impression
Ok and do you know if research pays well? According to my mum who knows nothing about the field it doesn't.

Was going to apply to uni this term to study biochemistry and starting to doubt it basically..

Yes
You'd probably be better to decide if you prefer the biology or chemistry side more, e.g. for chemistry maybe medicinal chemistry would be better and for biology maybe molecular biology or genetics.
