Nitro group reducing to amine group...

Hi all,

The question I am working on is...

Choose one out of those which would reduce nitro group to amine and brief explanation why.....

How don't I understand this.... am I being thick? Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi,

I think it is Br. Bromine would reduce the nitro group to amine by the substitution reaction, whereby it pairs with the H group and itself becomes a weak acid, HBr.

Not relevant. Besides that there's no nitrogen, it cannot be substitution as in substitution the Bromine is reduced. To reduce the amino group the other group must be oxidised.
