Essay!

Hi,

I have been set the question:
'Critically discuss research assessing the effects of hallucinogens on human brain function'

Just want to clarify I'm on the right track.... Does critically discuss research mean to present evidence but draw on methodological strengths and limitations, and come to a conclusion of whether the presented evidence is good or bad research?

Thanks in advance!

That does sound right. My uni has definitions of key assignment words.
Critique = 'Give a judgment about the value of and support that judgement with evidence (this can be positive or negative)
Discuss = 'Investigate or examine by argument give reasons for or against and consider
implications.'
Hope this helps:smile:
