Im going to try and bring this thread back to life!

Im hoping to apply for archaeology and history this year (start 2014) i was just wondering if anyone has experiences of particular unis either good or bad which can help me with my decision... I was at sheffield yesterday and was blown away by the friendliness and wealth of foreign dig options (all free!)

Also looking at personal statements has anyone got any tips... Especially books to read which not only look good but are also relevant (if possible!)
