Yeah I have no idea either. Came here half expecting someone eating pizza on a night out with snot coming out of their nose or something. A bit disappointed tbh.

Can anyone confirm if those spires belong to the university, or just part of Edinburgh city in general?

Not 100% sure if they belong to the uni. I'm not an Edinburgh alumni.
