English Language WJEC Unit 1 Fiction

Hi I am currently in year 11 and my English teacher has been absent for over a month and we've been having supply teachers since who have no clue about English what so ever. We have been set homework to prepare 2 short stories for the English Language WJEC Unit 1 Fiction exam in January. The titles are 'The Conflict' and 'The Achievement'. My head of English told us briefly that they have to be non cliché as we are all predicted A's. I am really struggling for ideas and I was wondering if anyone could help give me some inspiration. Thanks in advance for any answers :smile:
