oh okay because I am better in exams so I wanted to do a primary course with an exam  but yeah sounds cool x what are the assignments actually focused on? do they stress you out a lot?? :/ thanks hahah sorry so manhy questions because im stressed ablout it all haha
Don't worry ask me as much as you want  from the top of my head the assignments were about planning, creativity, curriculum organisation, educational ideologies.... might not make much sense to you right now but you do learn about it when you are there obviously haha x

oh okay sounds really cool!! and what was ur timetable like for the 1st year? was it like Monday to fri everyday? and what time was it??) xx
Timetable is most days, usually get a day off every 2/3 weeks. Timetable can be anything from 9-6pm bit of a joke but that's how it works x

woah that's some long hours!! :0 :0 lol... it's so good u guys have managed it haha, im just like :0
wow that's really cool :eek::tongue:
Yeah it varies really, don't have 9-6 days that often, sometimes im in 9-11, 4-6 so I have a huge 5 hour gap but it doesn't happen that often. By next year the uni are hoping to sort the timetable out so it's a little bit better though. Yeah hardly any days off, I've had one day off in 4 weeks!
Well one uni open day i went to said that they would be 9-5 days, so it would mirror a proper working day for a teacher. However, this might change depending on the uni, but most will give you long days, but i doubt that the first year will be a jam packed day. there might be biggish breaks during the day. As always, it all depends on the uni. for me, it wouldnt be too different to my college hours currently, as i do 10-5 days, but it is only 2 days a week, but then again, i do put a lot of time into my work at home due to the high quality my assignments need to be.

Yeah that's a good point!! I went to 2 open days today and yeaterday: Northampton and Worcester and they pretty much said the same things as you guys

But the Northampton course and uni in general really appeals to me!! but it's a bit expensive tbh :/ hhmm....

Im also thinking about Worcester, but havent had the time to get there. But im not too fussed about it, seeing as im wanting to go to Plymouth as it sounds such a great course and i love the uni!

What part of it is expensive? the halls? Dont forget that you dont 'have' to go into halls, if you can find somewhere you can go into a house first year, with that it would bring down costs as uni halls tend to be over priced for what you actually get. Ideally id like to get an unsuite while im there, but at £124 a week i dont know, as id have to live off around 40 quid a week...

^ yeah it's the halls,,,, £127 a week for 43 weeks sounds like alot! hmm yh that is a good suggestion i suppose, of getting a house nearby (student contract)

hmm.... what other uni's r u looking to apply for???
worcester is beautiful and northampton is just <3
but for worcester, students union is around (150-200£) a year + the library is in town o
whereas, in northampton its free

Thats not bad, but then again, it all depends on how much loan you'd get. Do you know how long the course would be? As you could chat to the accom people and try and get a shorter contract if needed... The highest im going to go will be 125, so im hoping the prices stay the same, but then again, the student loan will change as well so it 'should' be okay, just need to wait for the new year with the new prices etc. But ive always been good with money so i know the limits and reality of it all. Travel for placements will be the worst, but if it's one far away I'll get a placement family for the time im there so i wont be traveling silly distances everyday for a placement.

I'm looking at Gloucestershire, Worcester, Winchester as well, but have my eyes set on Plymouth, even though it is very far away from home, but then again i know people from the city, so it shouldnt be too bad. Have only seen Gloucester out of the rest though, which was okay, campus is amazing, as its very old, course sounds good, but no specialism sadly, only what they call 'subject strengths', whereas i want to specialise in ICT.

I didnt go on a campus tour while i was in plymouth, due to the fact i went with someone who went there so he showed me the main parts, so i didnt feel the need to do so. Kind of regretting it now, but oh well.

hmm wow! btw u know gloucester uni, do they spend time in lectures and other rooms aswell? Like in worcester, the thing that put me a little off was the fact that they normally stay in 1 classroom type classroom. They said they rarely go to the lecture rooms and all. Whereas, i am interested in the theory and spending time in lecture rooms as well as seminars (whereas, worcester doesnt have much of that unfortunately :/)

i am really looking for Birmingham city as my first place really, because it is pretty good and also very close to home

but yeah, good luck with plymouth  )

Im really unsure to that, cant remember if they said that sort of thing, but by the looks of things, there are lecture theatres and also classroom type places there, so i would say you do move about. Best thing i would say to do is email them and enquire about that.

And thanks, you too, getting excited about it all now, just want to send my ucas off, but need to have a meeting with my tutor about my personal statement and then send it off . how far are you to sending one off or have you done it already?

Yeah, im seeing mine tomorrow, so when i see him ill get it back then ill send it all off to ucas there and then, as he'll go through it all with me and make sure it's all correct.

And i dont have ucas points, as im doing an Access course, but im hoping to get 45 cerdits at merit :P (15 assignments at merit) but would like a few distinctions thrown in there to boost my chances

Yeah the maths test is the thing im most worried about, as im so poor at the mental stuff, the rest i can do without a problem, but they do say the actual ones are easier than the practice ones. Interviews should be fine, just worried about the presentation part of it, but i do have a module on oral presentations so hopefully that'll come before i have an interview, if not, im sure someone at college will be able to give me a few pointers
I sent my UCAS off about two weeks ago to MMU, Huddersfield, Birmingham City, York St John and Derby and I've already got 4 interviews lined up. They came through so quick! MMU's my first choice so hoping I get an offer from there. I passed the literacy test the other day and that was about the same difficulty as the practice ones, but it wasn't too bad.

So nervous for all the interviews though, some have asked for a portfolio?? Don't even know what I'm supposed to put in it though... Any ideas?
Thanks
