is this simple

76.5 - 22 = 0.988

could somebody explain this equation please particulaly what the small 1.3 means and how i would enter this into a calculator. any help would be greatly appreciated. the equation is shown in brackets but i cannot write it like that on here. thanks in advance

You're going to have to try and write that more clearly or post an image showing the question.

Could you maybe post a photo of the equation? It's very unclear as it is written at the moment.

This just means you do (76.5-22)/55 all to the power of 1.3

76.5-22 = 54.5
54.5/55 = 0.9909090909090
0.9909090909090^1.3=0.988
