surface
x = a sinθ cosφ
y = a sinθ sinφ
x = a cosθ

it should be obvious what the polar equation would be in the form r=...

dS is a standard result
are you meant to quote it?
show geometrically?
or use a Jacobian to get it?

Any good so far?
Fantastic! I think quoting it should be sufficient! Thank you! Do you reckon you can help me with part (b) and (c) ? Once again, I would be extremely grateful! I am just under a lot of pressure at the moment! Thanks so much!

r=a

well

ds= a2 sinθ

any standard multivariable book would show that

do you know how to find a unit normal on your surface?
yes, the surface normal would be P(phi,theta).. i think

when do you need the question by?
I need to hand it in by wednesday 6pm. Even if I can get just a solution for part (b), that would be great! Thank you for your help so far!

I will try to help you tomorrow lunchtime (I have a 2 hour break 13.30 to 15.30)

At the moment I just finished a 15 hour working day and my body and brain says no
