core 1 maths problem please help

I have this maths question and i dont know why I'm not getting the right answer. Could someone please point out where I'm going wrong?

show that the line y=2x-5 never meets the curve y=x^2-4x+5

so I know I need to find an equation with no real roots

I did 2x-5=x^2-4x+5

then i formed a quadratic

x^2-6x=0

b^2-4ac

36-4x1
= 32

32>0

please tell me what im doing wrong. It is not a negative number?
You have made a mistake when calculating the quadratic equation. Look at it again and you will realise what you did wrong
