Best study books for Psychology Access Course?

Just about to start an Access pathway to health professions that includes Psychology. I have previous knowledge on all other subjects in the pathway. So as a beginner to Psychology in Access course, what books would be recommended to help me? So far I'd heard great things about Richard Gross's books.
I'm an access student studying psychology. Gross is quite a comprehensive book and it is usually used at degree level. It contains a lot of information you won't even cover on your course, and we've been advised not to use it for now.

We've been recommended to stick to AS Level textbooks for now, such as Eysenck and Cardwell, as they are much easier to understand and will cover exactly what we need to know.
