Exam grades

at AS level this year i have received a high B in one of my history exam papers and a C in the other (which i am planning to retake).
At A2 level, is it possible to get an A overall in history if you have a high B grade in one of your AS units? or do you need to have As in all three exam papers and in your coursework to get an A overall?
I know that the grade boundaries differ every year and it is hard to tell but has anyone received an A overall in this situation before? because if it has happened before than i know it is possible.
