IF molecular orbital diagram
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with sketching the molecular orbital diagram for iodine monofluoride, IF. I'm really stuck with the number of molecular orbitals to include as there are so many Iodine electrons. Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Don't forget that the number of molecular orbitals formed = the sum of the atomic orbitals combined.
You could probably just consider the s and p orbitals of the outer shell ...
