I have repped all the secularists. Constitutionally, this is NOT a 'Christian' country despite the undue influence that the C of E has in the establishment. I would never want to live in a country where people af any religion had control over the everyday lives of ordinary citizens.

Our head of state is also the head of the C of E, which muddles the water a little bit. Plus we have the Lord Spirituals.
Not a fan of religion, especially Islam.
yes I would mind
You shouldnt even bother asking for me haha I aint a racist, but I am certainly proud to be british, christains started this country and christains should finish it. Sorry for the racism if you dislike.

Yes. Britain is already losing its culture and heritage from all of the different religions taking up different areas. I am not against multiculturalism but when there are protests about not using Halal meat for example, this is completely ridiculous as it should not be expected from a Christian country.

Whatever. Polls done in 2011 show that near 70% defined themselves as Christians. If we were not a Christian country we shouldn't celebrate Christmas, Easter or wed in Churches. But, my post was about people such as yourself.

1. Christmas is a consumer holiday. Contrary to popular belief Christ was not born on the 25th December. The time frame within which the Christmas season resides is actually an old pagan tradition.

2. Easter has become for most of the young generation an entirely commercial holiday representing some bank holidays and chocolate eggs. Not many celebrate it traditionally.

3. People don't always wed in Churches, and for many people it is a just a quirk. Castles, Mansions and other nice buildings are primary destinations. I haven't attended a traditionally Christian wedding in a church for years. In fact many atheists and agnostics marry in Churches because of their architectural beauty and not for reasons of Faith.

Redirecting your opinion of destruction of culture and heritage onto an myself as an individual just further alienates those of faith that don't share your opinion in our primarily secular society.

I consider myself wholly British and do not consider Christianity to be a fundamental British principle. I understand those who wish to practice their faith but I disagree with anyone that feels the need to thrust their faith onto other or to insult other faith.

Edit: What polls, what population were the samples drawn from? Age? Area? Sample Size?

I refuse to believe that 70% of the UK are practising Christians to the extent that they go to Church every Sunday. Don't think any figures like that would be pulled from a national census

The census showed a Christian majority. But a lot of people tick "Christian" if they've been baptised, for example, because it's official documents, even though they may not believe in god and aren't really Christian. The British social attitudes survey showed different figures as it asked what people personally believed in. The figures were a higher % of atheists/non religious people and a smaller % Christian than the census did.

And not everyone has a religious marriage.

An established church pretty much does make it a Christian country by comparison with almost anywhere else in former Christendom

The majority of English people consider themselves Christian. That's what the poll states.

Who are you to judge what a 'practicing' Christian is? The Mafia would often attend church then wack somebody. You need an education.

Well generally every place on the earth with a Muslim majority is a barbaric backwards ****hole so yes I would

Are you aware of what the Islamic East we doing during the European Middle Ages (Also known as the Dark Ages) while we were 'Barbaric' under Christianity?

If not I suggest you look it up quickly, before you spread your ignorance any further.

You're just dodging the question. What poll is this? What was the sample size? Drawn from what population?

Before quoting figures or percents at least have a basic understanding of statistics.

I don't, who am I to judge what a practising Christian is? Who would you consider a practising Christian as a Catholic?
Considering the huge range of Christian sects with differing beliefs I'm interested to know.

At least have an attempt to defend the points you made rather than nitpicking with something meaningless.

I wouldn't mind if islam was a religion that accepted and fully tolerated other religions/ways of life. But i feel a lot of them feel as if you should convert therefore i would mind a lot.

Hmm... that's a tough one.

By the way, the BNP are socialists, so I don't think they would be particularly good for prosperity either.

I thought they were corporatist? As in state directed 'capitalism' (or the merger of state and business as Mussolini called it)

Is this a question? That's like asking somebody if they want their home, family and posessions turned over to somebody else.

Considering that it's human nature to wish to sustain or maintain your environement, culture and heritage rather than give it away, this question is flawed with the principles and needs of humanity. This is a Christian country and if people don't recognize that they do not recognize us to be part of the planet, nor recognize our very own space then they're making this as personal as it could be. They must destroyed.

Britain is only a Christian country in name - in practice it's very much irreligious.

I'd not like it, I'm very much of the opinion that religion and politics shouldn't mix.

Yes I would mind as Britain would regress. Thankfully that'll never happen though

Well pretty much every Islamic country is unhappy considering how many people run away from there...
I would, but not because it's Islam. I mind that it's Christian or if it were Jewish or Sikh. I think all countries should be neutral, to allow people in their countries to believe what they want to believe. If you're muslim, it's cool, if you're athiest, it's cool, if you're jewish, it's cool. It shouldn't matter and we shouldn't prefer one over the other.
