Nightlife is fantastic, Nottingham has more than enough bars and clubs. The best accommodation is Hugh Stewart hall, but I stayed in the excellent Florence Boot hall (not far from the Trent building). Societies are plentiful, but I liked the christian union in halls and the weekly meeting as I met some really good classy people this way. The university is very diverse internationally, though not that many british asians or africans.

Favourite club was Isis, but that closed down ages ago I believe. Mode was good, but that was renamed and then just recently closed down. Oceana seemed to swallow the competition.

I did the campus 14, it is cool to see all the hall bars, the settings are so different in each. I stayed in Florence Boot hall, one of the best halls and quite close to the Trent building.

Would you recommend catered or self-catered halls at nottingham? I would naturally pick self-catered, but at nottingham catered seems to be more popular!!??
I don't really mind about the good quality that much as long as it's alright, but would you say it is easy to meet people/ socialise in catered because that seems to be the consensus?

Catered halls is far better for socialising and meeting people, especially in the first few weeks, and they are on campus. But self catered halls have their appeal too as you get more independence. I'd go with catered halls in the first year.
