sociology help!!

can someone please tell what i would need to include in this Q:

'different social groups have different social and spiritual needs and use religion and religious organisations in very different ways'
To what extent do sociological arguments and evidence support this view?

thanks.
Sorry you've not had any responses about this. :frown: Are you sure you’ve posted in the right place? Posting in the specific Study Help forum should help get more responses. Hopefully someone will be able to get back to you :h:
Marxists argue that religion is a way of manipulating the proletariat into false class consciousness. They believe that religion maintains social structure by the promise of reward which doesn't occur (myth of meritocracy).

Functionalists say religion provides a valid example of meritocracy - behave & go to heaven . Role allocation. Functional characteristic of society.

Postmodernists say that we pick n mix culture so religion is our choice.
