Thanks for the advice! I got a reply from CSM and they said that it was no problem.

How are everyone's portfolios coming along?

Hi I am applying to CSM FAD fashion pathway.
Do you guys know the real deadline for international student?
I get confused because this
http://www.arts.ac.uk/csm/courses/foundation/foundation-diploma-in-art-and-design--curriculum-area-fashion--textiles/
that says
Deadline

We do not have a deadline for international (non-EU) applicants, however we recommend you apply by the end of March 2015.
I am allowed to apply here in the last minute so my portfolio has not ready yet. And I am freaking out!

Thank you

I'd like to know the same thing!
Hey guys!

I applied for the foundation at CSM (fashion) at the end of december. I haven't gotten an interview/portfolio review date yet. Anyone else in the same boat?

Also what are u guys planning on including in ur portfolios?

yeah same! nothing back since reference letter. but I hope so that it's a good sign because my portfolio is in a process and I pray for that I'll have my review in end of February/ early of March

and yea I have 5 sketchbooks, A1 life/observation drawings, collages, one canvas, photos, stickers, one small zine book, a project about women artists... but i have never studied art as a specialist (a-level, gcse...) and it makes me so nervous

Ahh good that I'm not the only one haha  I'm planning on putting a single project forward to csm, where I show all the different stuff I do during my design process. For the review you only submit 20 pages though, right?

Yeah same, I didn't take art for my IB, only at GCSE level.

Does anyone know how the portfolio sheets should be displayed? In plastic folders and with a ring binder? Or loose? I don't remember seeing anything about that on the website ...thanks!

im going loose, and mounting my work onto black/white/grey paper if needed. all pages will be one sided so that they can lift and place to the left as they go along. I could by leaves but it will flatten to dimension of the work and also leave an unwanted layer of fog/gloss. plus it saves money.

Why don't u send them a flick link?

They told me that if I don't live in the UK, I can either upload them on flickr or send them a postal porfolio (USB or A4).

Oh my, I apologize then, I thought you might be Lithuanian :colondollar:

Because I have some problems in my application form, where they ask for GCSE Math&English, and yet I don't know which qualification to provide, as I go to a regular gymnasium, so I wonder whether I should try:
Non UK examination board ->german abitur, but then idk which level to choose...
I will be taking IELTS soon, but there I'd go:
(IELTS)->English as a foreign language, but which level should I choose there?

It really makes me nervous as I can't find my qualification details (nor examination body, nor subject and level) and the deadline is very very soon...
Could anyone help me? :frown:

I, personally, had stored everything on tumblr, and I have a .pdf version on an USB.
I wonder, whether a tumblr link would be okay?

So, when I was a child I moved to Russia from Lithuania lol an I graduated from Russian school (Lyceum) last year. And now I have a gap year preparing my portfolio and learning english. And I ve had the same problem with my application and I just missed this page. But recently I got an e-mail from Ravensbourne when they wrote that I can use my "ЕГЭ" results (math and Russian language) as an equivalent of a-level/gcse. And inasmuch as you re Lithuanian you can contact this agency http://www.kalba.lt They helped me a lot!

Thank you for the reply! I actually tried to skip that step too, but they didn't let me do so, and I started asking for help for my friends, etc, but no one knew how to help... Today I shall go and talk to that agency, should be quicker  everything is so last minute, this is freaking me out a bit... although, I am considering taking a gap year for some internships and maybe just figuring out whether I actually want to study arts, because I am completely lost in my options (got too many, you know..)

I get it now. We (intl student) do not have deadline but it is better to apply a.s.a.p because there may be an interview in your country, or either a skype interview. I am going to sent it tomorrow if possible.
Should I get any [automatic] confirmation e-mail about the complete application, after my ps and reference sent off? (I just called my teacher, and she said she had sent it off too)

I am so keen to show them my portfolio link and to actually know whether they have all application's supplements, I am soooo nervous right now :colone:

Is there anyone in similar boat, who didn't get any 'confirmation' email?

I don't know, they only mentioned Flickr. You should ask them
How many pieces of work are you going to include? ^^

this means the deadline is end of March ! dont worry you still got time! I'm still preparing my portfolio for it too so i havent applied for it yet
My A2 portfolio will not close with my relevant sketchbooks in it - they're too fat!
But all my sheets are In A2 sleeves, well presented and I'm pleased with it.
Would it be wrong to transfer the sleeves to an A1 portfolio? Because then the sketchbooks would fit comfortably but would it matter that the sleeves were in the wrong sized folder?
