Can I apply for history when I only got a B?

Id like to apply to do history and archaeology at Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen university. However, I only got a B for history in my higher exams last year. Will this effect my chances? My other results were an A in English, two Bs in maths and RMPS and a C in chemistry.

Well it depends on what the university wants. Each will want different grades or some just ucas points.

You'll have to look and find out
Check out the exact entry requirements on the History course webpage for each Uni - for these Unis they will want high grades/predictions, so if you don't match them, consider if its worth applying.

You certainly dont need a B to study History - www.whatuni.com allows you to put in your predicted grades and you can get a list of Unis accepting your grades.

Lots of general advice here : http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki/History_Degree
