How do I gain Computer related work experience?

Hey Peeps!

I have applied to study a Computer Science degree and I have a few bits of experience here and there but nothing special. I feel like it is very difficult to gain experience within this field, does anybody have any ideas of how I can gain experience in this field?

Download an IDE such as Eclipse and start writing your own programmes. Learn as you go.

Thankyou for the reply Academicus, but do I need any previous experience or knowledge to begin with this?
I recommend you start with some basic coding for THE CELL processor. If you can manage that, then you've won.

No. Just use YouTube tutorials online. There are plenty of series online that you can work through for all the different languages.
