It's not really important enough on its own. If you ever need to email them later about anything then include that too.

If it's simply to tell them you got the Award, then tell them. Otherwise, don't pester them as it can seen as negative.
Save it as a snippet to drop into conversation at your interview.

Congrats on getting Gold, what were you researching?
There's no harm in emailing them. They're usually very helpful, and in this case, it's something that might actually help you get offers.

keep it short and sweet though if you do - imagine how many emails they get a day - can they really be bothered to link your application to the email?? if you do make sure you tell then UCAS number, what you applied for, application number and probably DOB as well

I could swear I seen something on TRACK about editting your PS. But I am sure unis don't get to see the updated one anyway.

I emailed several Admissions Tutors with questions often they replied relatively quick and were more than happy to answer the question (s). So if you feel you must email them ... then do.

i wouldnt about that. If you have to send an e-mail tehn drop it in at the end.
