Sigma notation help!

Self studying maths student here a little stuck. Crap how do i type sigma on this thing -_- I'll just type it out it's pretty straight to follow anyway. find the sum?
n=102
(2r-5) working out = 1+3+5+...+199
r=3 102/2(a+l)
102/2 (1+199)=10200
however in the book it's 10000. Where have I gone wrong? help much appreciated :smile:

\sum, σ\sigma
[*tex]\sum, [*tex]\sigma(without the *s)
edit: It seems you can use \Sigma instead of \sum if you want to.

For the question, n should be 100, not 102. This is because 199 is the 100th number in the sequence.
