german translation

hey
just wondering whether anybody could help me translate
'the sun has been very hot on my head'
into German.
I'm not sure it'll make sense in German if you translate it directly and I'm also not sure what tense to use.
Any thoughts?

I would use imperfect tense I think.
I think it makes sense if you translate it directly but I'm not sure....

sorry,it sounds a bit weird in my opinion..
but so does the english version, therfore i am not exactly sure how to do it

Technically, in English isn't it "The sun was very hot on my head"?
so I would go with 2na's translation.

ok, if the english version is correct..what about 'die sonne war sehr heiss auf meinem kopf?', because I am sorry to say but 2na's times are wrong.
however, you wouldn't use my version either. possibly ' die sonne schien sehr warm auf meinen kopf'. still sounds kinda wrong.

Thanks for your thoughts. The whole passage looks like something out of the old testament and my problem with it is that it sounds so very wrong in modern english that i can't work out how to put it into sensible german. never mind, i'll find out later this afternoon....
