Hey, sorry to see you haven't had any replies to your thread yet. :frown: Are you sure you’ve posted in the right place? Posting in the specific university or course forum should help get more responses.

If you haven’t already found it, then university connect is a really useful way for finding people at your course/university! You can also find a list of applicant threads and courses here. :h: It's worth checking out if you have questions.

the degree itself is pretty worthless, many of the people I know have go onto teaching English abroad, getting entry level admin jobs or waiting/carry on their part time employment full time.

For £9000 a year I suggest you do a more employable course

You are allowed to drop into history lectures as you wish.

Don't make massive financial error.

PM if you need help
UWE is a 'new' Uni with a growing reputation. Its History Dept is good, includes leading/respected academics and it specialises in interesting areas like Local History, and Imperial/Commonwealth History.

The course is practical based - ie. more hands on than theory as at RG Unis etc. - and the Dept has good links with local Museums/Archives and Heritage sites.

Bristol is a great place to be a History student - its a city with a varied and intriguing history of its own.

Like all degrees (yes, ALL degrees at ALL Unis), there will be some grads who take a while to find their feet on graduation. This isnt a reflection on the course or the Uni.

UWE itself states : ' Our graduates enter careers in the heritage industry, publishing, advertising and marketing, communications, IT, law, broadcasting, tourism, and more. Many go on to further study. ' Which sounds pretty typical of the career paths of most Hiostory graduates.

Go to UWE. You'll have a great time and will enjoy living in Bristol.
