UAL Central Saint Martins Portfolio?

I've got a digital portfolio set up but I need to purchase a presentation portfolio to take to interviews, should I go for A3 or A4? When I did fine art I always had A1 which I found far too big. Also has anyone had an interview at CSM? Do you have any portfolio advice?
Thanks!

I'm on the same boat. But I'm still working on my digital portfolio. I have an A1 portfolio because i currently do fine art so i have large print work and oil paintings etc to include.

I'm applying for fashion print and fashion design with marketing at csm. I have just applied so i haven't hear back yet. If i get an interview I'm gonna look so stupid and pretentious with this big fat A1 portfolio. Personally i think you should go A2 thats the perfect size. Its large enough to fully display your ideas yet its not over powering and overwhelming! Good luck!

Thank you! Yeah I've applied for fashion design womenswear & fashion design with marketing! I hope I get in so bad, but the volume of applicants is ridiculous! Good luck and hope you hear back from CSM

Yes the volume of applicants is crazy compared to the amount taken. All i want is an interview so i can verbally justify my work.

Hey I'm applying to csm womenswear and the fashion design with knit pathway, are any of you applying to lcf?

I don't think it matters what portfolio size as long as your work is clear and presentable and something you feel comfortable in

Hay! Im applying to csm for fashion print and fashion design with marketing and westminster for BA fashion design. No it doesn't matter but i know the minimum is A3. My portfolio is A1 because i do fine art my paintings and prints wouldn't be justified in a photograph. Personally A1 is wayyy to big for fashion design so i have no idea how i am going to go about it. Good luck x

I visited LCF and I really did not like it, totally different vibe to CSM. CSM seems more arty. I love knit, the knit studios in CSM are great aswell, I almost applied for knit but I would rather explore all pathways before deciding which one I would want to specialise in  Yeah true, I think I might go for A3 though, I always tend to work smaller as I feel it looks neater, but I have an A1 portfolio for my fine art work.

Hi, I am applying to LCF, BA hons fashion textiles: Print course. I have also applied to CSM for BA fashion print and Westminster for BA fashion Design. Have anyone of you been asked to submit a mini portfolio for csm ba fashion?

I haven't received a csm email yet requesting it. Did you apply to Westminster full time or sandwich?

No me too, No questionaire yet because I will be submitting my app on 12th jan since I am waiting for the reference.
Hi,
Sharing the post that is on the westminster thread. This will help anyone who was looking for information about the questionaire:-
Re: Applications to University of Westminster 2015 To anyone that was wondering about the fashion questionnaire, the questions that I can remember are:

1) your current most influential designer in the industry (you have to explain why)
2) last exhibition & why you found it inspiring
3) 2 magazines that are the most directional, & inspirational for a designer to look at

And on the 4th they give you a runway image to look at & you have to explain your reactions, reflections & its relevance to this years season.

Hopes this helps anyone as you're not given a great deal of time to complete it. I kind of feel like I'm giving you all the cheats haha! But I wish I had had an idea before hand.

All the Best
