Accomodation fine?
I had a room inspection today and failed due to having a candle in my room, there is a possibility of being fined, so I'm wondering if the deposit paid prior to receiving my accommodation would cover this, if it was to happen?
No, a fine is a separate thing which you would have to pay on top.
I know it seems petty to ban candles, but there have been two Hall fires in the past five years where I am, caused by them. One meant the affected accommodation block was closed for two years for repairs and redecoration.

Candles are also banned in my halls of residence. However, that being said, there are two burn marks on the underside of my shelf from a previous student. >.>
