Imperial or UCL for Biochemistry?

Hi,

I have received offers from UCL & Imperial for the 3 year biochemistry undergraduate course. Both have given me equal grade requirements, and so I looked at the rankings:

http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/world-university-rankings/2014-15/subject-ranking/subject/life-sciences/order/%7Casc

http://www.theguardian.com/education/ng-interactive/2014/jun/03/university-guide-2015-league-table-for-biosciences

http://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/rankings?s=Biological%20Sciences

All 3 have Imperial higher than UCL, so I thought maybe Imperial, but then I looked at unistats

http://unistats.direct.gov.uk/Compare-Courses/List/10007784FT-UBSBOCSING05,10003270FT-C700

The course structure and everything seems very similar... But it seems that the teaching & feedback satisfaction is very low for Imperial...
I was wondering if anyone from Imperial or UCL had any thoughts on what lectures and teaching.

Thank you!

Oh congrats! Well done! What were your predicted grades if I may ask?

Well UCL would be better than imperial for life sciences, because they have a bigger department and they have well recognised lecturers, who have won noble prizes. If you want to go for a phd or higher research (at other universities) or something along those lines than you should go for UCL. Because the reference you get from UCL will be well recognised by other university departments.

Hi bradlydc! Thank you for your advice - my prediction is A*A*A. Do you mind if I ask which university are you from/went to?

Sure I am also applying for biochemistry and my sister is a lecturer at UCL. When did you apply and when did you get the offers ? The decision is really hard because Imperial is also a really good university, but it just depends what you are planning to do next.
Congrats on the offers. I have offers for Biochem at Imperial and Natural Sciences at UCL. Almost definitely going to firm imperial even though the offer's AAA compared to UCL's A*AA. Imperial is known worldwide as a hub for science, UCL will just be full of Imperial rejects. Job prospects will also without doubt be better from imperial compared to UCL.

Hi! I don't know it there is any chance of any of you responding but I'm currently facing the same issue. I don't know which way to go... UCL's Natsci or Biochemistry at Imperial. My UCL offer is a little bit higher but I think I can make it. What did you end up choosing and are you content with your choice? What would you advise me to do? Thank you!!
I am in the EXACT same position as you!!! .....hope they reply....
