Are all uni engineering offers linked?

For e.g if a uni has 200 places for engineering and 200 people apply for mechanical engineering, does that mean all the places are taken for engineering? :s-smilie:

or is each type of engineering seperated and have their ammount of places available? :confused:

In liverpool uni, there are different aerospace engineering courses: Aerospace engineering BEng, Aerospace engineering with pilot stuides BEng. are the places between these 2 courses shared?

I know it's a stupid question :rolleyes:

I would believe that the two courses would be shared - it's essentially the same course except that the Pilot Studies spends more time on learning how to fly. You will most probably have the same lecturers when it comes to the actual Aeronautical Engineering.
