Applying to uni when English is not my first language.

Hi, I'm in the middle of sending my UCAS application for a film production course, but one thing that worries me is that all my options are asking for at least a C in English and all I've managed to get is a D :/

My question is, will the unis I'm applying for will be willing to look past my grade since English is not my first language?

Probably not. Grade C English and Maths GCSEs are standard requirements for most unis now. This is to ensure that applicants are sufficiently literate and numerate to cope with uni courses. You need to contact your target unis to check your situation.

As English isn't your first language, they might accept an IELTS language qualification instead, which you could take between now and the summer.
