Looks brilliant, I just hope JJ doesn't go OTT with the lens flare and make it like Battlefield 4.

Now...if they could just release the original, unedited Original Trilogy on Blu Ray :colone:

I'm speechless and just so amazed at this trailer. This is what really reminds me of why I love films so much - spectacle, grandeur, emotions and huge entertainment value. Seriously excited for this and, in a year of blockbusters, there's no better way I'd like to see 2015 end with a bang than with a new Star Wars film. Roll on Christmas 2015!
The incredible first trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

This seems to be the week for teasing all of the things- Batman v Superman trailer!

Gotta say I'm pretty pumped for this. DC's never really had my attention like Marvel has, I generally find the character roster less interesting and aside from Nolan's trilogy there hasn't been any really great TV/movie material up until this point. Affleck also got a lot of hate when he was announced as Batman (although the only major role I've seen him in before is Gone Girl and he's perfectly fine in that), but he's looking really promising so far. He looks way more intimidating than Bale did from this early glance imo, the augmented voice sounds fantastic, and the armoured suit looks cool. I'm loving the allusions to Superman being worshipped as well, and Jeremy Irons just tips things over the edge. It's all got me very excited to see more of this.

I've read all the books and I loved them! Not sure about the movie though.

An extra 5 seconds of footage was shown at the IMAX event of Batman V Superman

EPIC!!
And after such an awesome week of trailers, we get this piece of garbage. I mean I know it's easy to rag on Shyamalan, but seriously, this looks awful.

Johnny Depp's comeback film or another failure?

It looks good in my opinion. Cliched, perhaps, and no doubt lacking in terms of plot, but tense and with genuinely chilling moments. If it was James Wan's name on the trailer, and not Shyamalan's, it would be receiving far more interest and praise.

I really don't see it. The evil/possessed grandma looks cringeworthy, random evil laugh track in the background, the found footage element feels unnecessary, it generally feels really amateurish to me. I was really hoping he'd be able to recapture what he was able to do with Signs, but I just don't see this managing to be anything more than "not completely horrible".
I suppose it's just a matter of opinion really. The evil grandma is definitely, as I said, cliche, but in that there will probably still be some creepy moments (like the "I'm gonna get you" scene where they were crawling). The issue with Shyamalan is that he is a very talented director, but tries to take on too much. As seen before with movies like The Happening, Avatar, and most recently After Earth, he tries to show his skill by simply cramming as many techniques and gimmicks into a movie - usually ending up with a movie that has no genre, no overarching themes, and no coherence whatsoever. The laugh track and the found footage elements are a sign of this, where he wants to create something with a James Wan-esque horror vibe (some of the trailer looked directly ripped from the Insidious movies), but he wants to put a spin on it (call it a directors twist, if you will), where he wants to also make a found footage movie as well (gimmicky movies can work - most recently Unfriended is a sign of that), and his unusual (and probably unsuccessful) blend of styles it what makes it seem amateurish to you, probably because you have knowledge on the area so can see exactly what doesn't work. The one thing I have no doubt about is that this movie will have great camerawork. With the exception of Avatar and Lady in the Water, Shyamalan's movies have always had great cinematography, so I feel most of the scares he will be going for in this will be based on framing (as seen with the granny crawling around the corner, sitting in the corner, opening the oven behind the girl), and whilst this is again cliche, it's not to say it won't work. I am quietly optimistic.
