TU 100 My Digital Life - Anyone else starting January 31st?

Hi,

Just received the course materials and thought I may well be a good idea to find a few people in a similar situation.

Studying the IT & Computing degree part time but I haven't studied since leaving college (unsuccessfully) in 2008.

Anyways add me up on Skype, my user is gjaylward.

Yeah, I'm doing it. Bit gutted about not being able to start level 2 in October though.

Hate to tell you but my Digital Life is more theory than actual Computing. Its based on Information Communication Technology. I looked at the whole syllabus and thought why do people actually want to study this rubbish.

You won't even get close into learning how computation works with this course. Here is the entire course Syllabus PDF.

When I found out the only thing the Computing & IT degree teaches is Java fundamentals & Visual Studio certs I pulled out. The degree is a joke. It is not worth your hard earned money or debt obligation.

Your much better taking free MOOC's at EDX or Udacity if you want some certificate. Will cost you 20 times less.

Or look at MIT courseware.

Or ........... do a Higher National Certificate/Diploma at college.
