I'm glad you're all taking an interest in the society - hopefully it'll be officially active quite soon.

I've already had some imbecile anonymously neg rep me so far, though I do have a few ideas who it might be.

I got neged in another thread because I said in all honesty I liked and enjoyed smoking. Some of the nicest people I've met in uni, I only found as we all sit outside for a cigg. It's social, and a healthy hobby!

I take it you all know that smoking gives you cancer? And harms the health of those around you?

As for a smoking ban, excellent I say - it should be extended to the great outdoors as well, I'm sick of the fag litter all over the place, and breathing in other people's smoke when I walk down the street - do you lot never think of other folk apart from yourselves?

As for cigars, the only thing I'd bring back the death penalty for. Either that or a total import ban!!!

    Yours sincerely

    A very virulent anti-smoking campaigner.

Yes, of course - a blessing if people like you breath in the second-hand smoke.

Maybe you should stop thinking about yourself and let us enjoy our tobacco.

Don't get too excited over your plans to bring back the death penalty - delusions of grandeur are about as healthy as 80 cigarettes a day.

Yes because walking past a smoking person outside is surely going to kill you:rolleyes:
And as for the cancer, the thought of spending less time in a world with you balances things out somewhat.

Ah, the typical responses of inveterate (no doubt) smokers, don't you just love it?

Did you know breathing in someone else's smoke lowers your life expectancy by 5 minutes? And walking round any city centre is the equivalent of inhaling several full cigarettes per day?

It'll not be that when you're coughing up slime, with bits hanging off of you, your skin hanging off you (and this is before you're 35 btw) etc etc.

As for cigars - what is the attraction of inhaling something that looks like a rolled up piece of sh*t? And the smell? I'd rather ingest Sulphur Dioxide. I'd settle for a total import ban, if the Death Penality falls foul of European Human Rights Law.

People who smoke cigars = The Enemy. FACT!

Also bear in mind you lot (smokers) are in the minority, and we (non-smokers) are in the majority - so put that in your pipe and smoke it! (Only as long as you don't do it near me)

My god you are possibly as annoying as an evangelical christian. Although seemingly more stupid.
I believe the actual factoid you're searching for is that smoking one cigarette reduces your life expectancy by 5 minutes, not inhaling some smoke by chance. And I'm pretty sure this only applies to regular smokers - if someone were to smoke just one cigarette in their whole life, without coming into contact with any other tobaco smoke, then it would have no impact on their life expectancy. Given that almost all of the effects of smoking dissapear two years after quitting I'd guess that what you're saying is total bull****.

And if we smokers are the minority then how are we around every street corner in a city centre like you're suggesting?
And smoking doesn't adversely affect every smoker. Some can smoke their whole life and not contract any smoking-related disease. And to overgeneralise and say that we'll all end up "coughing up slime, with bits hanging off, your skin hanging off" is absurd - for one thing I know a woman who has regularly smoked for decades who isn't coughing up slime and her skin certainly isn't hanging off.

So next time you want to come charging in here and tell us we're all going to die, how about you get your facts straight instead of showing us just how thick you are to blindly go around believing everything you see and hear in the media.

Run along now n00b, I'm sure there are other people somewhere you can annoy.

Good to see I've rattled a few cages

No need to get your knickers in a knot (I was only winding you up btw)

BUT, I still think smoking is the root of all evil in the world (especially those cigar smokers - look at Fidel Castro, for example). I mean if inhaling poisonous fumes is what you want to do, why not go and stand on the motorway? It would be cheaper, in the long run.

What the hell have you been smoking?
I can think of plenty more evil things than smoking. Child prostitution, human trafficking, torture etc.
If anything is the root of all evil it's naive air-headed twits like you who ignore it and pretend it's not there. Scapegoating the evils of the world on smoking isn't going to work I'm afraid.
