extended project qualifaction

I'm about to start my extended project and was thinking in the area of Irish political history mailing around the split from Britain up to the good Friday agreement. or in one about American politics around the time of the Vietnam war, questioning the silent majority. are these good topics to study and I'm struggling to phrase a question for both of them. help!!!!!!!

Try going for something along the lines of, 'To what extent did X cause Y', Joe mate. Then you can analyse why things occurred and how much of an impact they had on your chosen country. You could also fight your corner in talking about the 'extent'
