In an interview, would a visible tattoo or piercing be looked down upon?

It really shouldn't be, but it deffinitely wont help you. If it's easy to cover up/take out, I'd do it. Better to be safe than sorry if you have a traditional old man who's synical of the modern generation on ur panel!

I have 10 piercings, all in my ears, and it didn't seem to be a problem (got 3/4 offers). Saying that, they're all fairly subtle, and may well have been under my hair for some of the interviews...

Spoke to a lot of my lecturers etc and they don't seem to have a prob with them, although this depends how 'messy' they look lol - i think its best to take em out if ya can or at least make em look as respectable as poss e.g. no spikes etc

if they aren't visible, no. They are frowned upon as they don't look very professional, especially for subjects like medicine.
