Writing a commentary

I am writing my first commentary for AS English on my creating writing piece, and don't really know how to approach it. Can anyone help pleaseeeee?

Hello,

I recommend you follow these guide lines:

INTRODUCTION

1. The text type
2. Mention some historical and cultural context present in the text type
3. The themes (3)
4. Literary techniques used to utilise the themes (3)
5. A sentence top it all off (e.g. The literary techniques played a prominent role throughout the course of the text as they were central to the outstanding portrayal of the themes)

BODY(s):

1. Attention grabber related to the first theme and literary technique
2. Give examples of the theme from the text
3. Show the effective use of a literary technique in portraying the theme effectively by giving an example

CONCLUSION:

1. Wrap-up of everything
2. Personal opinion
