Nice one, thats my subject... you made an amazing choice! Any chance you've thought about what subject to do?
Are you curently studying it at sidney then? I would take Biology of Cells, Chemistry, Physiology of Organisms and Maths, hoping to specialise in Biochemistry in year 3. What would/did u choose?

Hardcore Maths- are you mad?! Other than that, good choices. Though I may be a tad biased....

ps- hi Andy!
Im not sure about which maths course; either quantitative biology or maths A, but probably quantitative bio as it sounds less tough!

I found QB incredibly hard going- so much so I had to swap to Elementary Maths for Biologists. But then Maths was never my strong point and I'd had a gap year so it had kinda gone to mush. But the QB supervisor, Nik, is lovely and will explain things til he's blue in the face if you need him to.

See QB is my best subject this year. (i'm reali a cool mathmo in disguse :redface:P) Nik is an amazing supervisor.. many a time have I gone into his supervisions not knowing much.. and come out understanding it :redface:D... and he runs the practicals too.. so can help you out with those as well!

Aaargh I hate it when they change the door codes! And the porter that gave me my key was really grumpy. :frown: But my room is all nice and tidy and just like it was last term, with the addition of pretty lights.

There's usually only one or two architects per year, so there could be someone else somewhere!

What are we like? I would say friendly- I know a lot of colleges say that, but we actually are. There's lots of college based stuff- mainly the bar tbh- but every one has the chance to be included if they want to be. There's a mix of people, there's always going to be loud people who like to go out 5 nights a week, as well as quieter ones that prefer to stay in- you've juts got to find like minded people! Hmm...freshers week....it's technically only 4 days. But there's a garden party where you meet your college parents, then subject meals, later in the week there will be parent and child formal, a pub crawl and your first bop. So it is good fun. Just make sure you make the most of it before the work starts!

It varies from parent to parent- though I reckon anyone at Sidney would quite happily answer any questions you have. Some do family meals half way through term to see how things are going, some don't do anything- I guess it depends on how well you settle in and how well you get on with each other.
