OCR AS Chemistry Qualitative

Ive been given the following task for my chemistry coursework and I need to do well on this! Any help/suggestions would be really appreciated!

. You will prepare a solution of a copper(II) sulphate
You will carry out some chemical tests on the solution you have prepared.
You will then carry out some chemical tests on a solution of silver nitrate.

im not sure what this is asking you to do, silver nitrate can be used to identify the halogens in their compounds with the ionic equation Ag+ (aq) + X-(aq) --> AgX (s) when X is the halogen as each halide ion gives AgX a characteristic colour (Cl- = white, Br- cream, I- = yellow)

I'm doing OCR B (Salters) and our coursework is VERY different, so I hope this is of some use.
