You may want to double check on the Birmingham website as I don't know if this applies to all Universities, but I believe that you do still apply for accommodation, provided that you have put Birmingham as your Insurance. However, since Birmingham is your Insurance and not your Firm, you are not guaranteed accommodation allocated by the University. Of course, if you have not chosen your Firm and Insurance choices yet, then you should not apply to accommodation until you do so.
