OCR History A Investigations Coursework

Hi all. This is the piece where you choose your own topic and investigate. I was wondering if it is allowed to use the source materials OCR provide in their question papers as source materials in this?
I think you can - but my history teacher said, if possible, you should find the source that they referenced from (using the author and title provided with the source) and reference from that - if you know what I mean.
