Business degree is it worth it?

So I am bound with dilemma what to do next in my life..

I dropped out of Mechanical Engineering degree because I was studying it against my own nature in a promise of a 'safe financial life' upon graduation.

I was always passionate about business but nothing too 'in particular'.

Is it worth doing any of business degrees or is it better to work, save money and start something yourself?
If you were smart enough to do a Mechanical Engineering degree then I think unless you do a business degree at LSE then no. It would however be better to do an Economics degree which I think will give you a better chance. You do know you could of still applied to lots of business related graduate schemes e.g. Business analyst and accounting ..... even with the mechanical engineering degree which is seen as a strong subject
