Nope.

How will 100V be developed across the 40 ohms resistor when the supply is only 12V?

The total resistance has changed (gone from 30 ohms to 60 ohms) so the current must also change.

You need to calculate a new current and then find the p.d. across the 40 ohm resistor.

You need to state that the current has fallen because the total circuit resistance has increased.

i.e. the current now flowing in the 20 ohm resistor has fallen and since V = I x R, then the p.d. developed across the 20 ohms resistor must also fall.
