Fat at University? Experiences?

Hey, I'm James and I'm almost 16, I weigh 17 stone and I'm 5 foot 8/9, I'm pretty fat, and will probably be bigger when I apply for uni, I was wondering if anyone had experiences with being fat at university, and how it affects you?

I'm fairly active, but unfit, I do PE at school and I do rugby twice a week, for two hours in total, all of my rugby friends are chunky but I'm one of the biggest. I spend most of my time on the bench at the club because I'm often too tired to take part. As for diet, I eat fairly badly, I was always chubby as a child but since starting my GCSEs my weight has skyrocketed six or seven stone, because my parents now work late and I have to get takeaways from online. I go to McDonalds near my school most nights after school with another friend who is a little thinner than me, but still massive and pig out, it helps with the emotional stigma of being fat and not being able to get a girlfriend, however I am actually okay with my weight, I don't want to have to lose it.

What is being my sort of weight like at university? Will it affect my application?

Thanks, James
Well, you don't put your weight on your application so there's no reason it should affect that.

If your weight makes you feel so uncomfortable about yourself that you genuinely believe it to be something that could affect you in your life, then why not do something to try and change it?

You might think you're "okay" with your weight, but if that were true, you wouldn't be making this thread. And besides, think of your health, not just what you look like.
It definitely won't affect your application haha. Your weight is absolutely irrelevant to your uni experience but you might want to improve your diet for the sake of your health. You say that you have to get takeaways because your parents work late? This isn't true, you certainly won't be able to afford takeaways every night at uni

The fact that you posted this sort of suggest you are not okay with your weight...you're only 16, why don't you start eating better, exercising more so that once you get to uni you won't have to be worried about your weight?

No point spending £40k++ on a degree if you're gonna die of a heart attack at 30 years old.
What on earth makes you think being fat will affect your application?:lolwut::lol:
this is why fat-shaming is okay
it won't affect your application, you know that UCAS doesn't ask for your weight along with your grades, right?

Unless you're going to an interview it is unlikely to affect your application

Well like I'll probably be even fatter when I go for the interview and perhaps the interviewer will think I'm lazy and a slob (which I am but I'm clever)

So I'll be judged at the interview on my (morbid???) obesity?
