C2 and FP4 is an interesting combination. What other exams are you taking?

Fp1, C1, D1, M1. I'm guessing most are also taking fp2 fp3 but I am taking those next year. Sometimes questions require you to know c3 and c4 but I hope none of those come up this year

I hadn't even consodered someone doing FP4 without C3/C4 but now I think about it it is possible.
I think double angle formulae come up failry often though.

Going to flop this badly

Has anyone done the june 2014 paper? I didn't find it so bad. IMO the jan 2012 is still the hardest.

Yes but look at its grade boundaries.

Yeah I know they are just too high. The mark scheme was also really not generous to try and limit some of marks.

Good luck with FP4! I took M3 at ASlevel without C3, C4 or M2, which in hindsight may not have been the best choice, but it was interesting to skip ahead like that. Hope you do well and enjoy it.

There's nothing in M3 that requires C3/C4 or M2.
Sitting this paper for AS. Core 2 on the same day for me also. It's definitely the one I score least UMS on out of my 9 exams but it's still reasonable. Hopefully they don't give us a hard paper since last year's was nice.
Can anyone explain why on 8ci for the AQA june 2013 paper, they convert the value of sin?? i used 1/root6 and am wrong; the mark scheme uses root5/root6??

Hey there good to see someone else in the same boat as I am. What time is fp4 for you? I'm doing at 11 am just after c2

None of the techniques do, although sometimes C3/4 calculus and C4 vectors are used in questions, or could be used to do them faster. Also, the circular motion formulae from M2 can appear in dimensional consistency questions, so it's useful to know those as well.

We've been told that we have to sit them straight away. I get the choice between which exam I do first but only have a five minute break into between. Probably going to go for Core 2 first to get fired up.
Can someone talk me through question 8c on Jun '12?. I don't get why PR.L = 0

Worst FP4 question I've ever seen.

Hope not too unclear. You have to know the shortest distance formula. "A" is a random point on that line and is needed to find shortest distance PR
