What are your ideas? Isolate the x terms on one side.

Are you trying to find the value of x?

If so, use the fact that anything that you do to both sides does not invalidate the equality.

If you for example were to add -1 to both sides, the equality would still hold.

The general idea of solving a linear equation in one variable is to rearrange to get the variable on one side of the equation and a constant on the other side.
