chemistry A2 equilibria

This is the reaction:

CH3CH2NH2 + H2O---->CH3CH2NH3+ + OH-

Is the equilibrium to the left because their is more moles on the left?
Is there 2 moles on the left and 1 mole on the right?
Does the OH- ion count towards the number of moles on the right hand side?

Thanks :smile:

It lies to the left since ethylamine is a weak base.

The position of ANY equilibrium is not affected by the number of particles on either side. Pressure (on gases) can shift the position of an equilibrium depending on how many gas particles there are, but the numbers of particles doesn't really affect where the equilibrium position starts.
