what they mean (hopefully) is that you're in with a good chance of an offer and two things

1)that they want to impress YOU so that when it comes to firm/insurance choice time you choose them

2) that they want to make sure you understand the structure & content of the course so that you don't tuen up in October to find it's not what you thought it was

Am I making sense? Anyway if it's a serious possibility you'll go there then attend the day

yeah you are thanks! i mean it will probably be my first choice so i'm getting slightly panicky about it.... i wish they'd just given me an offer straight away! lol it's just added stress!!
Try not to worry about it too much. Even if they haven't given you an offer yet, they only invite people they're serious about to admissions days, so if you go, the chances are you'll get an offer. It's just a chance for you to have a look around the uni and department, meet staff and students and find out more about the course, accommodation and so on.
