Typically, universities are looking for applicants with 3 A Levels. Some universities are accepting 2 AS Levels in replacement for 1 A Level. To be sure, you can phone them up/visit their site to view their specific entry requirements. 
Sheffield do for most courses. Try looking at the prospectus/website or emailing the uni.
